About Me
Hello! My name is Andrew Ginnard and I am one of Slauson's English Language Arts teachers. For the '17/'18 school year, I will be teaching 4 sections of 6th grade and one section of 8th grade. This will be my fifth year working at Slauson.
I graduated from the University of Michigan School of Education in 2013 with a bachelor's in education with concentrations in both English and German (Despite the fact that I am not the German teacher, yes, I am fluent in German.). I intend to pursue a graduate level degree in the coming years.
One thing you will be quick to learn about me is that I'm a big tennis fan. I have played since I was nine and it has been instrumental in my development over the years. I am the women's junior varsity coach at Greenhills coming into my fifth year. This is our most recent JV team on the left, and our varsity team winning the state tournament!

During my off time in the Summer, you can find me at the Racquet Club coaching almost every day. I was also fortunate enough to snag Federer's autograph in Cincinnati a few summers ago!
I'm also a big sports fan all around. You'll notice my whiteboard is updated with several Michigan sports teams' scores. When I'm not too busy planning or grading, you may find me at a Red Wing's game now and again.
You may be asking yourself who the wonderful woman standing next me here is. This is my wife Melissa. We just got married in October and are loving our new life together in our house in Ypsi. For those who have asked, the wedding was a fantastic success. We had a day more amazing than we could have ever hoped for. Here are some of my favorite pictures!:
We just returned from our honeymoon abroad this past summer:
And here are some shameless pictures of our dog George <3
I hope to get to know all of you well throughout the year! If you ever have questions about me or my interests, it never hurts to ask!
